Math Summer Camp 2026

In Oakland/Piedmont, Berkeley, San Francisco, Lafayette, Mill Valley, Danville, and Alameda
For curious minds ages 6-16

In the morning at math summer camp, students participate in exciting Firecracker Math lessons covering topics such as number theory, geometry, and computer logic. This isn’t your typical math lesson– in our small and individualised classes, highly qualified instructors teach math through a combination of theoretical instruction, games, magic tricks, and interactive activities.

In the afternoon, full-day campers participate in hands-on activities. Topics often include art, science, games, and chess.

Firecracker Math is a non-profit that offers scholarships.

Our mission is to spark joy, deepen knowledge, and develop each student’s aptitude for math.

Our students are curious and challenge-loving children and teens.

Our lessons introduce students to topics selected from various areas of math, such as number theory, geometry, algebra, combinatorics, graphs, probability, and more. They focus on problem-solving and logical thinking skills. We make math exciting with hands-on activities, games, and magic tricks.

Our teachers are enthusiastic educators who have advanced degrees in math or science.

My child is in Kindergarten. Can they attend Firecracker Math Summer Camp?

We allow Kindergarten students as long as they meet our prerequisites:

  • They must be able to count to 12 and backwards
  • Understand the concepts of addition and subtraction
  • Be able to compare numbers (equal, less, greater, no greater, etc.)
  • Be able to write numbers
How can I stay informed of what my child is learning and how they are doing in class?

Throughout Firecracker Math Summer Camp, parents receive emails about what material is covered in the lessons. At any time during the camp, you can contact us for a review of your child’s progress.

What if the math is too hard or too easy?

Please let us know if your child is an advanced math student and may benefit from being placed with a more advanced group. Likewise, if you feel your child struggles with math at school, let us know as well.

During the camp, feel free to contact us at info@firecrackermath.org with any inquiries or concerns.

What support is available for students who may benefit from accommodations?

We understand that all students have different needs. Please let us know how we can best support your child by adding a note when you register.
